Did you know Waring is the Original blender? Fred Waring brought the first commercially successful blender to market in 1935. Waring, a one-time Penn State architectural and engineering student, had a fascination with gadgets. His name was already well known -- not for any invention, however -- but because he was leader of the popular big band, "Fred Waring and the Pennsylvanians." Inventor Fred Ossius was principally responsible for conceiving the blender's design, but when he needed assistance with the final development and promotion of his new creation, he approached Fred Waring for his help. Waring's money and fame gave the blender its start, but the novel machine took America's kitchens by storm for a more down-to-earth reason: It just worked fabulously well!

Today, just as then, Waring blenders possess an elegant simplicity of design that looks as great as it works.
