About paper catalogs
| Terms & Conditions & Shipping Policies |
Our Aim:
We've tried to develop policies that are fair to all involved, and to state them plainly. Please e-mail if you have any questions.
Your Satisfaction Guarantee:
Anything purchased from Pleasant Hill Grain may be returned within 30 days of delivery for refund or exchange, following the guidelines under "Returns" and "Refunds," below.
Condition of Goods Sold:
Used merchandise is never sold as new. New-equipment cartons may be opened for inspection or inclusion of "tips" info sheets before being shipped to you.
Returns:
Items must be in as-shipped condition, not scratched, scuffed, cut, etc. E-mail or call for return authorization (RA) number before returning any item. A repackaging fee will apply if packing materials are not returned complete. Postage and insurance are the responsibility of the sender, except we'll pay the shipping (by surface shipping) if we made a mistake, such as shipping the wrong item. Care should be taken to individually wrap each part to protect from scratching or rubbing, because shipping insurance doesn't cover damage caused by inadequate packing (including parts being damaged by contact with other parts inside the box.)
Refunds:
Refunds (including for deliveries refused by customer) are subject to 10% restocking fee with $10 minimum. Despite the restocking fee, we lose money on returned items because of shipping, time, handling, repackaging, item depreciation, card transaction fees, and other costs. Note regarding commercial equipment only: Actual outbound shipping cost will be deducted from refund for non-defective commercial machines prior to calculation of 10% restock fee (commercial machines are machines having manufacturers' warranties covering commercial use).
Refused Deliveries:
Refused deliveries and order cancellations received after merchandise has been shipped are considered "items returned."
Exchanges:
There is no restocking fee for exchanges of equal or greater value, if the item being exchanged is returned in condition as shipped.
Defective Equipment:
Within 30 days, customers may opt to have defective machines replaced or refunded. After 30 days, the terms of the manufacturer's warranty apply. We will pay shipping cost for return of defective items only from within the 50 U.S. States and Canada. Shipment of replacement for defective items will be by surface shipping only (except for AK and HI, which will be by mail only.) In the case of large commercial equipment, minor cosmetic blemishes occurring during manufacture or transport are not considered disabling defects, but Pleasant Hill Grain will make a sincere effort to remedy such by providing replacement parts, touch-up paint, etc.
Shipping:
Standard shipping is by FedEx Ground shipping. Some small items are shipped via U.S. Postal. Most orders received by noon Central Time ship same-day. Other shipping options are available (call). Shipping damage must be reported at the time of delivery or within 7 days. Ground shipping is free to the 48 states for orders over $99, except where noted on product pages. For orders under $99 total, S/H (shipping and handling) is $7.95 flat-rate to U.S. 48 states (which, in most cases, is well below actual shipping and handling costs. You can read more about our flat-rate shipping policy here.)
APO/FPO Shipping:
Shipping to APO/FPO addresses must be by U.S. Mail, and costs us about double the normal rate. We've considered charging for the difference, but here's what we decided: Our military families are underpaid and many are putting their lives on the line daily to keep the bad guys on the proper side of the wall. If you're in the military and you can provide an address to which we can ship by FedEx Ground, that would help us out and we'd appreciate it. But if you can't, then you still get our standard shipping deal anyway, and we'll absorb the difference because, like a lot of people, we owe you one. And... thanks from everyone at Pleasant Hill Grain.
Shipment Method for Remedy of Error:
In the event that Pleasant Hill Grain ships a wrong item, shipment of a replacement item within the U.S. 48 states will be by ground shipping. If you order any item for shipment within the U.S. but intend to use it outside the U.S., be sure to inspect it thoroughly before taking it outside the country because we will pay for shipment of replacement items only to U.S. and Canadian addresses.
Motor Freight Shipments:
When receiving a shipment that's delivered by motor freight (this would normally apply only to large commercial equipment), by the freight lines' regulations it is the responsibility of the receiving party to carefully inspect the goods upon arrival. Any damage that occurs during shipping will be remedied by the insurance provided by the carrier, and that coverage is available only if visible damage is noted on the freight bill before the consignee signs to accept delivery. (If severe damage is evident, the consignee also has the option to refuse delivery.) Any concealed damage can be reported after taking delivery, but must be reported with 7 days.
Receipts:
When ordering online, your receipt is available for printing at "Step 3" (the final step) of checkout.
Receipts for items ordered by phone will be e-mailed or mailed to you. Most manufacturers require receipt for warranty service, so be sure to keep your receipt.
Personal Checks and Money Orders:
Orders paid by personal check can be shipped 4 business days after receipt. Orders paid with a money order purchased from a U.S. Post Office are processed for shipment as soon they're received (for a U.S. Postal Money Order you must take cash to the Post Office.) Orders paid with checks or with money orders from any place other than the U.S. Post Office are processed for shipment after 5 business days.
Canadian Orders:
Canadian orders cannot be placed online; you will need to call. (See phone hours here.) Also, because the AVS (computerized credit card address verification system) does not work for billing adresses outside the U.S., we are sometimes not able to take payment for Canadian orders by credit card. In those cases, payment can be made by cashier's check from a U.S. owned bank such as Bank of America, or by Canadian Postal Money Order in U.S. dollars (a $5 fee must be added to such international payments because, unfortunately, charge us $5 to deposit them.)
Import Fees:
Any and all import fees which may be assessed on items shipped outside the U.S. are soley the responsibility of the purchaser.
Alaska and Hawaii Orders:
Orders for shipment to AK and HI cannot be placed online; you will need to call. (See phone hours here.) Also, there are additional charges for shipping most items to AK and HI, and most shipments to AK and HI are by Priority Mail.
Non U.S./Canadian Orders:
For orders for shipment outside the U.S. and Canada we cannot accept payment by credit card. Payment must be by cashier's check from a U.S. owned bank such as Bank of America, or, for larger equipment including commercial grain mills, by wire transfer. (Call for payment arrangements.)
Credit Card Billing Address:
Pleasant Hill Grain accepts payment by credit cards having a U.S. billing address only. ("Billing address" is the address at which you receive your credit card statements from your credit card company.)
Privacy:
We do not sell or otherwise disclose customer information to any outside party not directly involved in fulfilling your order.
Security:
Our online ordering system is encrypted for your protection. Customer credit card information is never transmitted by insecure means. Credit card information is automatically, securely deleted at an interval following order fulfillment – not stored indefinitely.
Backordered Items:
When an item goes out of stock, we often enable online pre-ordering at $1 temporary cost, with “ETA” info posted adjacent to the Buy-Button. We post the ETA range the supplier provides, or else we adjust it conservatively to try to be on the “safer side.” We hate stockouts and work to stay on top of the situation with the source, to ensure that our information remains current. In all likelihood, we probably get called pests (and worse) by manufacturers and suppliers who've run out of things.
For many of the products Pleasant Hill Grain offers, we know from manufacturers that we carry a larger stock as a percentage of sales than any retailer in the world, and we reorder long before counts hit “zero.” This means that by the time we’re out of something, most others usually have been out for some time. It also means that the way you’re most likely to get the item the soonest, is to pre-order with us. In some cases, it will even prevent having to wait until yet another shipment comes in, before unspoken-for stock becomes available.
Our suppliers’ ETA’s are usually quite accurate. But things can happen, from shipping damage to lost cargoes to delays in Customs, etc., so it’s important to remember that the "E" in “ETA” does stand for “estimated” and not for "exact." So... If you're going moose hunting and you don’t have a large freezer, please understand that if an out-of-stock meat grinder arrives later the manufacturer told us it would, we won’t be able to replace the moose hunting trip, or the moose, or fly the moose grinder by overnight delivery. Our responsibility is two-fold: To provide the most accurate information possible, and to get stockout items back out the door again very quickly once they arrive. We pledge to do both of those things.
Typos:
Pleasant Hill Grain is not responsible for typographical errors. We do appreciate hearing about any inaccurate information on our site, and a discount is available to anyone who alerts us to a pricing error.
Warranties for products sold by Pleasant Hill Grain are offered and provided solely by the equipment's manufacturer. Warranty information, including locations and addresses of authorized service centers, is provided in product literature. For information on Pleasant Hill Grain's status as an Authorized Bosch Distributor, click here.
Most manufacturers require proof of purchase (and of purchase date) with warranty claim, so it's important to keep your receipt. Pleasant Hill Grain will provide a courtesy copy of your receipt upon request if possible, but we cannot guarantee availability of such records.
Our website is our full and only catalog. We update and improve it at least weekly, something we couldn't do with a paper version. So you get fresher information, and the trees are happy :-) Plus, you don't have to pay for paper catalogs and postage through higher merchandise prices. If you'd like a hard copy of our information, maybe for a friend who isn't online, you can print our pages from your computer's printer. Just be sure you're actually online when you hit "print" or you may not get the images.
