Meadows® Hammer Mill Specs & Pricing

Pleasant Hill Grain is an authorized distributor of American-made Meadows hammer mills, perfect for a wide range of milling applications.

Meadows hammer mills combine practical design and proven reliability with simplicity & reasonable cost. The Meadows hammer mill has been in continuous production for over 40 years. These mills are in use across the U.S. and around the world, in applications ranging from processing grain for livestock feed to grinding glass bottles for recycling.

The Meadows hammer mill
operates by impact action and will pulverize most dry, free-flowing materials. Material fed into the hammer mill from the top falls into the grinding chamber. The material is contacted by a series of hardened steel hammers rotating at high speed. The material is ground by repeated contact with these hammers, contact with the walls of the grinding chamber, and particle to particle contact. The material remains in the hammer mill grinding chamber until particles become small enough to escape by passing through the perforated screen that covers the bottom half of the grinding chamber. Interchangeable hammer mill screens are available with hole diameters from 1/64" to 2", to allow for fine or coarse grinding of most products. The output volume of the hammer mill is determined by screen size, shaft speed (normally 3,600 rpm), and configuration of the hammers, which can be set up to suit your application. Your product can be test ground free of charge. Test grinding will establish the capability of the hammer mill to process your material and determine the proper model and set up (bottom discharge or material handling fan, and belt drive or direct drive) to suit your needs. Hammer mill models are offered with either bottom gravity discharge, or material handling fans (recommended for finer grinds). The Meadows hammer mill may be belt driven or direct driven to fit your specifications. Engineering staff is also available to assist in designing a hammer mill system to efficiently handle your product, whether you need a complete system or want to fit a new piece of equipment into your existing layout. We also offer conveying equipment (mechanical or pneumatic) and storage equipment (collectors and piping systems).
