Security FoodPak 1 (details on this page) is a complete 1-year emergency food package and is the most popular FoodPak solution; you need only add cooking oil obtained locally.

Security FoodPak 2 duplicates FoodPak 1 minus the 9 Superbuckets of wheat and beans, and the baking powder/soda. FoodPak 2 appeals to some who have ready availability of grains and beans locally. Don't overlook, however, that if you purchase grains and beans locally w/o long life oxygen-free packaging, shelf life of those components could be reduced substantially compared to purchasing FoodPak 1.

Security FoodPak 3 offers a very basic, extremely inexpensive, 1-year food-insurance policy. It is essentially the bulk grains & beans from FoodPak 1.

Note: All of the #10 cans listed above come completely sealed (water-tight and air-tight.) You also get a plastic snap-on lid to put onto each can after opening. To preserve maximum freshness and shelf-life after opening a #10 can, we recommend that after opening a can, you subdivide the contents into smaller containers with tightly fitting screw-on caps. These could be saved disposable food containers (like mayonnaise or pickle jars, for example), or you could just purchase some Mason jars and lids locally. This will allow you to return the majority of the contents of a #10 can to storage in a cool, dry place, while keeping one container handy in your food preparation area. Following this practice will help ensure that once the #10 can is opened, all of its contents remain good until you use them up.

Equipped with the new Black Berkey® purifying elements, Berkey® Stainless purifying systems removed pathogens at the EPA's incredibly high "Log 7" standard, meaning that no more than one contaminant molecule per ten million remains in the cleaned water.

Unprecedented purifying effectiveness: Berkey® purifiers using the Black Berkey® purification elements are proven to reduce pathogenic bacteria (including E. Coli, Klebsiella, Pseudomonas Aeruginosa, Giardia and Cryptosporidium) by 99.99999%. The Berkey Light® System has been tested with the maximum pathogenic contamination levels that can be produced in a laboratory. When contamination levels exceed one billion pathogens per liter of water (10,000 times the density of contamination used in the standard test protocol for bacteriological removal) they become too numerous to count (TNTC). Such contamination levels are referred to as "lawn growth." Under normal testing protocol, one pathogenic organism is tested at a time, each with a fresh purifying element. For this test, however, the laboratory was directed to mix together a soup of three separate pathogenic "lawn growth" cultures. Tested under this extreme contamination level, absolutely no pathogens were able to make it through the purification elements. The laboratory then incubated the water, and nothing grew. When the effluent (filtered water) was viewed under an electron microscope not even inviable (dead) microbes were detectable -- nothing was present but pure H2O. Furthermore, contaminants reduced to below-detectable-limits include Trihalomethanes, Radon 222, and volatile organic compounds including Benzene, 2,4-D, Heptachlor, MTBE, Styrene, Tetrachloroethylene and Toulene, among many others.
