Expeller Pressed Canola Oil: Most brands of canola are extracted using hexane (a petroleum derivative) then further processed with phosphoric acid and other additives. Our canola oil, much like virgin olive oil, is mechanically expeller pressed without the use of chemicals or solvents and then refined using a proprietary steam filtration process. The result is canola oil that's lower in saturated fat than olive oil, higher in Vitamin E, Omega 3 and Omega 6, and much more versatile in your kitchen because it can be used as either cold or hot oil. It also GMO free, has zero trans fats, and is the lowest in saturated fat of all oils.
The light, neutral taste of expeller pressed canola oil is so delightful you'll want to use it for salad dressings, dips, sautéing, baking and frying. I had never thought about how canola oil is processed. The fact that most oil is made usng a petroleum product in processing is an eye opener. I first ordered a 32 oz bottle of yours to try, and it has a distinctly cleaner, lighter taste. Except for pie crust, I use this oil in all my cooking now. I’ve come to rely on Pleasant Hill Grain for all of my grains, baking supplies, eggs, and many other items. Everyone I’ve had contact with either by phone or email has been pleasant and helpful.
