The Dragon-Lite provides AM and FM radio and LED lighting powered by a pull-cord operated dynamo generator. The DragonLite's internal rechargeable battery has a proprietary design that eliminates the memory problems of conventional rechargeables, so performance stays high over extended usage. Its ultra-reliable LED lamp is shatterproof and has a 100,000 hour life, so it never requires replacement. When other power isn't available, the Dragon-Lite fills critical needs including lighting and a radio link to emergency information & entertainment. In our testing, the Dragon-Lite's FM tuner and Weather Band tuner work well, but the AM tuner brings in only the strongest signals. The antenna extends or collapses fully into the unit. (Assorted colors, please see note in gray box below.)

Pull-cord charging: The Dragon-Lite uses a novel and effective pull-cord design to power its charging dynamo. Pulling outward on the ring, like you would to start a lawn mower, spins the charger's flywheel to produce charging power. The pull cord is made of high strength monofilament nylon, and the pull stroke is 24" long (leaving some line in reserve to prevent damage.) When not in use, the ring hooks flush into the back of the unit for trim, secure carry.
