HUGE Milling Burrs: The photo at left shows how large the grinding burrs of the Country Living Grain Mill are. Most steel -burr mills have burrs that are 1"-2" in diameter. The burrs on the Country Living Grain Mill are nearly 5" in diameter, and they are investment-cast steel, not softer cast iron as in most metal-burr mills. Investment casting allows a highly precise fit between the two burr halves, providing uniform grinding, long burr life, and low turning effort.

Power Bar Handle Extension for Country Living Grain Mill: Extends turning radius for easiest turning. If you want to make fine-textured flour and your upper body strength and endurance aren't pretty good, we recommend the Handle Extension. With this installed, even adolescent children can operate the Country Living Grain Mill. Tip: If you bolt your Country Living Mill directly to a table or similar surface, and if you want to use the handle extension, be sure to position the mill so that the flywheel overhangs the table edge — otherwise the extended handle would hit the table and not be able to go all the way around.

Auxiliary Large Auger for Corn & Beans: The Country Living Mill comes equipped to grinder wheat and other small grains. For larger kernels like field corn or beans, the feeding mechanism will work best if you use an Auxiliary Large Auger. (This auger is made of stainless steel. The old aluminum version is no longer made.)

Flour Bin: This custom-made bin fits perfectly beneath the outlet of the Country Living grain mill. It's made of a tough high impact polymer for many years of use. Measures approximately 5" x 6" x 7". Includes lid for flour storage.

Replacement Burr Plates: The plates that come with your Country Living Mill will grind a LOT of grain — several years' worth for most families. If you've managed to wear yours out, or just want new ones on hand for that day, here they are.

Just-In-Case-Kit: If you want to be prepared for any event, including simply losing a small part, this kit pretty well covers the need: Includes drive shaft and nut, 2 replacement bearings, 2 pressing washers (for bearing removal), 12 flat washers, 2 long keys, 2 short keys, stainless spring auger, snap ring, and instructions.

Hopper Lid: Keep the hopper of your Country Living grain mill clear of dust and trespassing rodents with this handsome, birch wood lid. Has groove to fit snugly down over hopper edge.

Wall Mount: This is a nice alternative to table or countertop-mounting. Comes with pre-drilled holes and equipped with the necessary hardware to mount your mill and shelf to the wall. It is designed to be mounted to a single stud, or into two studs spaced at standard 16" centers. Stout birch wood construction. Minor assembly required.

A motor drive is now available for the Country Living Grain Mill. This unit uses a heavy duty reduction gearmotor for fast, effortless milling, and includes a guard to keep fingers out of the drive belt. Motor drives mill shaft at 50 RPM. (If you're handy, you can also rig up your own motor drive. Doing so voids the mill's warranty, but a properly motorized mill will last many, many years in normal use. Many of our customers prefer the white and a good number prefer the red — it's a matter of taste.
