2 cups corn meal 6 cups boiling water 2 cups cold water 2 tsp. salt
Mix the corn meal with cold water. Stir into boiling water with salt added. Stir constantly until thickening occurs. Cover pan and reduce heat to lowest temperature. Let simmer for at least 30 minutes (a couple of hours won't hurt. Just stir in between a couple times.) Turn off heat and let stand for 30 minutes. Corn mush may be eaten in a dish with milk and brown sugar now.
(And/or)
Butter inside of 2 loaf pans and pour mush into them. Cover and let stand overnight. In the morning dump out mush loaf onto flat dish and slice thinly. Put slices into frying pan with bacon grease or oil and fry until crispy. Put fried mush on a plate with your bacon and eggs and cover with butter and syrup.
Good country eatin'.
