Solitaire mixers sold in the U.S. come with dough hooks designed for sale in Europe (pictured at right in photo -- the one with the black plastic part.) Most European Bosch owners don't make bread with their mixers... they buy it from the local baker as a matter of tradition. Every American baker we've spoken to who has used the standard European hook has found it to be unsatisfactory for making more than two loaves at a time (in fact some more pointed words have been used.) It does an outstanding job of kneading. It has an entirely different shape and is several times more massive than the European hook. Flaker Mill for Solitaire Mixer: This quality flaker mill is made in Germany by the Messerschmidt company and, with the adapter shown below, will fit onto the Solitaire accessory adapter shown above.

The flaker mill turns soft grains like oats into flakes for recipes and fresh cereals. Our customer -- and fellow Nebraskan -- Randy Watterman sent us these comments about his flaker: "Had our first batch this morning... it was wonderful!
