Heavier cookie batters can be mixed with your Concept dough hook, but now you have the ideal option: the brand-new Bosch cookie paddle! These snap onto your Concept whip drive in place of your whips and they carry a lifeteme guarantee against breakage. So if you want to make a double or triple batch of chocolate chip oatmeal cookies and use margarine straight from the fridge, these paddles will mix them up without batting an eye. They're made of an extremely tough thermoplastic called Delrin. Shipping is free when purchase with a Universal mixer (or as part of any order over $50 total.) This is a great new accessory for your Bosch mixer that we recommend highly.

Tip: Bosch recommends using the wire whips and batter whisks for pourable batters. The batter whisks (DB2's) are a bit stronger than the wire whips for "heavier pourable" batters, and until recently we recommended the DB2's for careful use with light to medium cookie batters not containing any stiff material (like unsoftened butter or margarine.) The new lifetime-warranted Bosch cookie paddles (see them listed just above) have now replaced the DB2 as the tool of choice for all cookie batters. In our view, there's scarcely any reason to purchase DB2's now that the MUZ6CP1 cookie paddles are available. For maximum whipping action in lighter foods, the original DB3 wire whip is still best. Wire whips and batter whisks are not warranted because the Bosch is easily powerful enough to bend them if they're used in thicker-than-pourable batters.

Choose Angled or Straight Adapter: Either of these adapters will let you use the Universal food/meat grinder and grinder-mounted accessories (which are shown below), as well as the flaker mill, on your Concept 7 mixer drive base. The angled adapter (upper picture at left) allows the Concept base to sit in its normal position while running the grinder. When using the grinder with the straight adapter (between Concept 7 base and grinder in lower picture at left), the Concept base is turned on its side as shown. (A pair of self-adhesive anti-slip rubber strips are included with the straight adapter to be fastened to one side of the Concept base.) For the small price difference, we recommend the angled adapter over the straight model because it attaches easier, the anti-slip rubber strips aren't very attractive on the side of the mixer, and simply so you can leave the Concept 7 base in its normal position. The grinder is not included with either adapter. More info. on the straight adapter is here. If you want to use the flaker mill (below) on your Concept, then we recommend the angled adapter even more strongly, because the flaker on the straight adapter would make the Concept tip over unless you provide something like a wooden block to place under the neck of the flaker.

Flaker Mill for Concept 7: This quality flaker mill is made in Germany by the Messerschmidt company and, with the adapter shown below, will fit onto the Concept 7 accessory adapter shown immediately above.

The flaker mill turns soft grains like oats into flakes for recipes and fresh cereals. Customer and fellow Nebraskan Randy Watterman sent us these comments about his flaker: "Had our first batch this morning... it was wonderful! The flaker worked great and made a family sized amount of oatmeal in no time at all. The taste and texture was better than any already-rolled oats we've purchased in the past. Thanks again!" Unlike commercially-flaked oats that are paper-thin (and consequently mushy) this flaker will turn oat groats into thicker, chewier nuggets. And as Randy found, fresh is incomparably better, both in taste and nutrition, than hyper-processed commercial alternatives. Oat groats are oats with the hulls removed, and they're available from health food stores and food cooperatives (see links here for connecting with a regional food cooperative in your area.) To use the flaker mill on your Concept 7, you need three items: First, either the angled or straight Concept Accessory Adapter shown above (we strongly recommend the angled Accessory Adapter if you'll be using this flaker), then you need the Bosch/FGM adapter listed here, and then, of course, the flaker. This could be a bit confusing so we want to stress that you will need two adapters plus the flaker. (Click here to see how to use the flaker mill with the FGM adapter. The flaker mill has a lifetime manufacturer's warranty from the Family Grain Mill company.

Universal System Grinder Allows you to grind and mince meats, stuffings, and virtually all foods into any desired consistency. Comes with a 4.5 mm disk for general use; other sizes are available (see below.)

A Concept 7/Universal Adapter listed above is required to fit this Universal System meat grinder to the Concept 7 machine.
