| Danish Aebleskiver Pans (...aka Pancake Puffs / Dutch Poffertjes) |
Some consider Danish Aebleskivers a breakfast pancake; some a dessert pastry, but this much is for sure: As hard as Aebleskiver is to spell, they're even harder to stop eating! The flavorful dough can be fried with a piece of apple inserted in the center or served with apple sauce or apple butter — Aebleskivers take their name from their fondness for apples. Fruit jam's another time-honored topping. At Pleasant Hill Grain we have a weakness for Mapeline syrup on ours. We offer three quality pans, described below in the same order in which they're pictured at left.
Deluxe Cast Iron Pan with Wood Handle: Holes are 2.2" diameter and 1" deep. Weight 5.5 lbs. Overall length 16.5". Pan diameter 8.6" and height 1.75". Comfortable cool-touch wood handle. (Wood handle is removable if you want to season the pan in your oven.) Our favorite pan!
Cast Iron Pan with Cast Iron Handle: Holes are 2" diameter and .81" deep. Weighs 2.5 lbs. Overall length is 11.5". Pan diameter (across corners) is 8.6" and height 1.1". Traditional cast iron handle with comfortable curve.
Nonstick Pan with Plastic Handle: Holes are 2.25" diameter and .9" deep; overall pan diameter is 8.5". Weighs 1.7 lbs. Overall length is 16.5". Pan diameter is 8.6" and height 1.75". Comfortable plastic handle stays cool.
Aebleskiver recipes included with each pan. If you haven't yet experienced Aebleskiver... it's time to stop missing out!
Dutch Poffertjes use this very same pan, so you're getting a Aebleskiver pan and a Poffertjes pan all in one... and Pleasant Hill Grain includes recipes for both! (Aebleskiver pans are known as Monk Pans too.) |
